Welcome to Urban Pilates Sthlm! My name is Sara Isaksson. I’m a personal trainer focusing on Pilates, aided by a broad experience of various types of training as well as dance. Pilates is a method of fitness training that focuses on building core strength. It is suitable for pretty much any- and everyone – no matter if you are a professional sportsman or have no prior experience of working out.
Urban Pilates Sthlm offers personal instruction as well as group classes, for private individuals as well as companies. All instruction is tailored to the individual. I also offer special programs for parents with children (i.e. mama-baby), pregnant people, athletes etc.
Personal instruction can be done in your home or in my studio at Storskärsgatan 3 in Stockholm. We discuss what goals you have with your training and each session is carefully tailored to your needs.
Classes are no bigger than eight people, enabling me to give each person individual attention and help them adapt exercises to their abilities. All sessions give you a full body workout, but specific exercises are varied between sessions, giving you the chance to experience quick results while also being challenged by new moves and activities.
I am a certified pilates instructor, having earned my certificate through Steele Pilates in 2012. I have a background in dancing and Arts Management, and also work as an instructor in various other training styles, such as bodypump and circuit training.
Pilates has given me a good understanding of how the body works, and in fact I would say it has given me better control of my body than I had when I was dancing 10-20 hours a week. Pilates has improved my core, enabling me to advance in other forms of body building.
My philosophy as an instructor is to motivate you and give you a good workout. I don’t believe in quick fixes, but in having a sound long-term relationship to exercise and food. My goal as an instructor is to help you care for and improve the best tool you’ll ever have: Your body.
